Until Friday Night (The Field Party #1) by Abbi Glines

To everyone who knows him, West Ashby has always been that guy: the cocky, popular, way-too-handsome-for-his-own-good football god who led Lawton High to the state championships. But while West may be Big Man on Campus on the outside, on the inside he’s battling the grief that comes with watching his father slowly die of cancer.

Two years ago, Maggie Carleton’s life fell apart when her father murdered her mother. And after she told the police what happened, she stopped speaking and hasn’t spoken since. Even the move to Lawton, Alabama, couldn’t draw Maggie back out. So she stayed quiet, keeping her sorrow and her fractured heart hidden away.

As West’s pain becomes too much to handle, he knows he needs to talk to someone about his father—so in the dark shadows of a post-game party, he opens up to the one girl who he knows won’t tell anyone else.

West expected that talking about his dad would bring some relief, or at least a flood of emotions he couldn’t control. But he never expected the quiet new girl to reply, to reveal a pain even deeper than his own—or for them to form a connection so strong that he couldn’t ever let her go…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I both love and hate Abbi for this book. I love her for giving us such a beautiful story about loss and love. I hate her for writing a story that twisted my heart for over 300 pages and never relented. I was hooked from page one and couldn't put it down. I loved West and Maggie, and my heart broke for them over and over again. This book is much tamer than what I am used to reading from Abbi. It's definitely mature YA, but nowhere near her other NA novels. All the things that make Abbi an amazing author are still there and Until Friday Night is another prime example of her literary genius. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series.
The Best Goodbye (Rosemary Beach #13) by Abbi Glines
The look on Rose’s face had screamed that she was hiding something. Hell, she’d practically run away from me. There was something to that. I knew there was...
After ten years in the employ of a mysterious crime boss, River “Captain” Kipling is ready to leave his sordid past—and his cover occupation as an upscale restaurateur—behind him. The only thing standing in the way of his “retirement” is his commitment to launch a new restaurant in the resort town of Rosemary Beach. With his sister, Blaire, nearby, Captain can delay his dream of running a humble bar on the waterfront, but the unwanted attentions of his head server, Elle, have him itching to get out.
Until he notices Rose Henderson, the new server at the restaurant. All he knows about the pretty redhead with the cute glasses is that she’s a hardworking single mom from Oklahoma. But there’s something overly familiar about her laugh...something strange about the way she looks at Captain...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Another great installment in the Rosemary Beach series. Ever since Abbi first introduced us to Captain, I have found him an intriguing character. There was an aura of mystery surrounding him that made it clear that there was a story to be uncovered. I was even more intrigued after Abbi’s little bombshell revelation about Captain that was dropped on us in Mase’s last book. Captain and Addy’s story is just what you would expect from a Rosemary Beach novel - plenty of drama, passion, and a happy ending. The only reason this one earned 4 stars instead of my usual 5 stars is because I felt the ending was a bit rushed. Other than that, I loved it.

When You're Back By Abbi Glines

The future is bright for Reese Ellis. She has Mase Colt-Manning, the man of her dreams, and a family she didn’t know existed until her long-lost father arrived on her doorstep in Rosemary Beach. After growing up with a cruel mother and abusive stepfather, Reese is eager to get to know the caring and charming man who wants to be a part of her life. Everything is finally falling into place.

While Reese is visiting her new family in Chicago, Mase spends time with his “cousin,” Aida, who has worshipped him since childhood. Though they’re unrelated by blood, Mase and Aida have been raised to think of each other as family. But when Reese returns, she can tell something isn’t quite right with Aida, who clearly resents Reese and excels at manipulative little games. And though Mase is unsuspecting, Reese knows Aida doesn’t love him like a cousin should...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is little to say about this book other than that Abbi delivers another work of perfection. I am sad that this series is coming to an end, but Abbi certainly has not let up at all. This was the perfect ending to Mase and Reese's story. It has all the drama, romance, mess ups, and make ups that make this series great. The proposal scene was enough to make me swoon ten times over!
There are some great twists and a shocking revelation about a certain character (Captain...Holy Cow! Didn't not see that coming!) that made for a great read and built anticipation for the upcoming installments. This book gets five giant stars from me!
Up Next...
When I'm Gone (Rosemary Beach #11) by Abbi Glines
Mase Colt-Manning has always preferred his humble life as a Texas rancher to his birthright as the son of a legendary rock star. In fact, he rarely visits his father’s rarefied world in Rosemary Beach, especially if it means bunking at his vile half-sister Nan’s house—until one visit leads to a chance encounter with a young, gorgeous house maid who awakens him with her off-key but spirited imitation of a country music star…
Reese Ellis finally has her freedom. After escaping a lifetime of abuse from her parents and classmates for an undiagnosed learning disorder, she seizes the opportunity to be a house maid to some of the richest families in Rosemary Beach. But her job is in jeopardy when she causes an accident at the home of her most important client, Nan Dillon. When a hot, half-naked stranger with a cowboy’s swagger comes to her rescue, she’s intrigued—then afraid once he shows his own interest. Reese has never met a trustworthy man in her life. Will Mase be any different?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There is not much to say about this book, except that it is yet another amazing read from the amazing Abbi Glines. Mase is the perfect cowboy/white knight and Reese is the underdog that you can't help but root for. Together they make an adorable couple. Although there is some mention of characters from previous novels, this book can be read as a stand alone (although I would highly recommend reading the entire series...it's amazing...you won't be disappointed...you're welcome in advance). Just be prepared for the cliffhanger, as the sequel is due out in June. This one got a big book hug when I finished it.

Kiro's Emily (Rosemary Beach #10) by Abbi Glines

The year is 1992, and no one on the rock music scene is hotter than Kiro Manning, the lead singer of Slacker Demon. With a multi-platinum record, total ownership of the Billboard charts, sold-out concerts, and sinful amounts of money, Kiro can have anything—and anyone—he wants.

So when a dark-haired, conservative beauty rebuffs him at a concert after-party, his first thought is, “Who the hell does she think she is?” His second thought: “How do I make her mine?” Kiro has always loved a good challenge, but not every girl wants to get involved with a rock god. Especially this girl.

He let her go that night, but he never forgot her. And when they met again, he vowed not to give up again so easily.

As the world worshipped Kiro, he came to worship the girl, who became everything he never knew he needed. The only girl he would ever love. His Emily.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What a wonderful little gem Abbi decided to give her readers with this one! Reading the Rosemary Beach series would not lead anyone to believe that Kiro Manning is capable of real love, but when Kiro's secret was exposed, I can't deny that I wasn't dying to know more. And boy, does Abbi deliver! This story was sweet and beautifully heartbreaking. It's proof that love can save, but that sometimes there is no coming back from its loss. Absolutely fantastic.
You Were Mine (Rosemary Beach #9) by Abbi Glines
In the eyes of the wealthy playboys who frequent Kerrington Country Club in Rosemary Beach, Tripp Newark is a hero. Under pressure from his parents to become a lawyer and lead a conservative, upper-class life, Tripp disappeared from town five years ago to travel the world, forfeiting the opportunity to inherit millions. Yet few know what he was really running from...
Bethy Lowry was unraveling long before her boyfriend drowned in a riptide trying to save her after she'd had one too many drinks--again. A trailer park kid working as a cart girl among the wealthy patrons of Kerrington Country Club, Bethy has always been impressionable. But five years ago, before she earned her reputation as a hard-drinking, easy girl, she had spent a single summer with Tripp Newark that changed her life forever...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There isn't much to say about this book, other than it's amazing, just like every other book in the series. I have come to expect perfection from Abbi, especially when it comes to books in this series, and somehow she continues to meet and surpass my high expectations. Tripp and Bethy's story is about regrets and second chances, and makes for an emotional read that will have you hooked from page one. Abbi delivers another great installment in this series complete with everything I have come to expect - heartbreak, drama, sexy times, redemption, and a happy ending. You definitely need to have read the other books in the series before picking this one up. I would not call it a stand alone due to the intertwining of story lines and characters, but this whole series is worth the read anyway, and so is this book. Loved it!

One More Chance (Chance #2; Rosmary Beach #8) by Abbi Glines

The unforgettable story of Grant and Harlow from Take a Chance continues in this brand-new novel in the Rosemary Beach series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines.

She was it. His one. His only. Then he made the mistake of letting her go.

After fighting his way into Harlow Manning's heart, and revealing a side of himself no one had ever seen before, Grant Carter destroyed his own heart by giving in to his greatest fears and doubts. Months later, he's stuck in a miserable routine. Work relentlessly. Beg his best friend Rush for news about Harlow. Avoid all other friends. Leave nightly voicemails for Harlow, pleading with her to come back to Rosemary Beach. Fall asleep alone. Repeat.

Miles away, on her brother's Texas ranch, Harlow can't bring herself to listen to Grant's voicemails. Though she wants to be with him, and knows he regrets letting her go, she doesn't know if she can trust him. When he discovered the truth behind her sheltered upbringing, it shattered their relationship, but the secret she carries now has far greater consequences. Can she risk giving Grant one more chance, or will the gamble ultimately destroy her?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grant has been one of my favorite characters in the Rosemary Beach series since Blaire pulled her gun on him in Fallen Too Far. I was so excited when Abbi announced that he was going to get his own book, and thrilled to watch his world get rocked by Harlow. Of course, just like all the other guys in this series, he had to go and screw it up, leaving me with a not so happy ending. Thank Heavens, I knew that Abbi was giving him another book, and another chance to fix things.
I have to admit, I totally checked out the teasers for this book, so I already had an idea of where the story was going before I opened it, or at least I thought I did. However, most of the surprises came not from Grant and Harlow, but other characters. I can't believe I'm going to admit this, but after reading this book, I find myself hating Nan less. Never thought that would be possible! We also get to know some previously introduced characters better - Harlow's half brother, Mase - and get introduced to some new characters - Mase's cousin, Major. I'm super exited for Mase's book, and hope that Major gets a book as well, but I digress...
This story is rather emotional, and I found myself choking up, and out right crying throughout the book. Grant and Harlow's second chance is sweet and heart wrenching, and the perfect conclusion for this couple. There are certainly plenty of harrowing moments, but I couldn't imagine a different ending. Once again, Abbi delivers another fantastic novel that kept me flying through its pages (and neglecting some household chores...oh well!).
I can't wait for what's up next in this series. Trip and Bethy's book promises to be an emotional roller coaster, and I can already tell that I am going to be an emotional wreck while reading it. You slay me, Abbi Glines! But I love you for it!
The Boys South of the Mason Dixon Line Series (Episodes #1-2) by Effy Vaughn (a.k.a. Abbi Glines)
The Sutton Boys - those three words bring a smile to the faces of females of all ages in the small town of Malroy, Alabama. Five brothers who help their momma run their farm during the work week, while seeing how many women they can sweet talk out of their panties on the weekends.
Each brother has a story and just like with all families and small towns, their stories twist together into a tangled mess that changes each of their lives forever. Because for each brother there will come a moment when he has to make a decision to keep playing or finally become a man.
One will be given a gift that every man longs for.
One will be broken.
One will be lost.
One will find out what it means to be owned.
One will make the ultimate sacrifice.
South of The Mason Dixon, the boys get naughtier, the nights get hotter and the southern charm is down right addictive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So, our dear Ms. Glines revealed a secret...that she wrote a series under the pen name Effy Vaughn, as a way to express herself artistically without the pressure of worrying about whether her readership would like the story. The problem is, she is a literary genius, so naturally people have fallen head over heals for this series. So she came clean and has been posting these novellas on her website for free. And holy $#*! are these novellas amazing! If you haven't checked them out, then get yourself over to Abbi's website stat and get on that.

There are currently two installments of The Boys South of the Mason Dixon series posted: Asher and Bray (click their names for the link to their novella). These Sutton brothers are panty-dropping fun and this series is so full of drama and angst that it makes for a truly compelling read. Every novella leaves you wanting more, and Abbi leaves us with some serious cliffhangers that had me on the verge of shouting "No" and/or a string of curse words out loud (I seriously had to fight that impulse, as I was sitting on a public metro while reading them). Why she ever doubted that we wouldn't love this story I don't know. It is just as fantastic as all her other books. All I can say is that if she wrote a phone book, I would gladly pre-order it, wait for it (im)patiently, and devour it, just like I do with anything she chooses to publish. This is definitely a must read series for fans of Abbi and the New Adult genre. It will leave you hot and bothered, tied up in knots, and begging for more.

Rush Too Far (Too Far #1.1, Rosemary Beach #1.1) by Abbi Glines

Rush! Rush! Rush! Rush! That’s all I really have to say about this book. I swear, Abbi Glines is a literary master. I would gladly pre-order, count down the days to, and devour a phone book if she wrote one. Rush Finlay is definitely in my top five book boyfriends and I love all the books in the Rosemary Beach series. If you haven’t read this series (shame on you!) then you need to get yourself to a bookstore ASAP.

If you were anything like me, then the whole time you were reading (and rereading) Fallen Too Far, you were dying to know what was going through Rush’s mind. What did he really think when he met Blaire for the first time? What drew him to her? What were the thoughts going through his mind during the infamous “peanut butter” scene? How did he reconcile his feelings for Blaire and his feelings of responsibility to his (still horrible) sister, Nan? So many questions! Abbi answers them all with Rush Too Far, which retells Fallen Too Far from Rush’s POV.

This book is fantastic from start to finish, and I loved being inside of Rush’s head. I enjoyed seeing my favorite scenes from his POV, but what I loved more was getting to experience the conflict in his head as he fell for Blaire. While Rush comes off as a playboy, he is also incredibly loyal and protective of the things he loves. I found myself on an emotional roller coaster as Rush tried to come to terms with his feelings for Blaire, knowing full well that the secret he kept could destroy her world. It was just as heart wrenching as before, maybe even more so, because of Rush's internal conflict.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this book, other than the ending is just as torturous as the first time. After finishing, I had to reread Never Too Far and Forever Too Far just to remind myself that the story has a happy ending. Rush Too Far left me with an even bigger Rush Crush and has secured his spot at the top of my book boyfriend list. Fans of the series will not be disappointed. I know I wasn't :)

Take a Chance (Chance #1) by Abbi Glines

"Three kinds of women in this world. The kind that suck you dry and leave you with you nothing. The kind that only want a good time. And the kind that make life worth a damn. The last kind...the right woman's the one who gives as much as she takes, and you can't get enough. She's the kind...if you lose her, you lose yourself."

Grant Carter, with his blue eyes and sexy smile, has always been content to keep love at an arm's length. He knows all too well that love gives you the power to break someone. Knowing that he would never be able to love someone and risk losing them, he filled his days with woman only looking for a good time. Until Nan. Nan, Rush's sister, needed him and Grant loves to be needed. He came close to giving his heart to Nan, but learned the hard way that Nan is not the type of woman you fall in love with. Nothing makes Grant regret his fling with Nan like Harlow Manning.

Harlow is the type of woman you fall in love with, and Grant finds himself completely taken in by her. The problem: Harlow is Nan's half sister, and Nan hates her. Their budding relationship comes to a halt after Grant races back to Rosemary, upon learning of of Jace's death. A few months later, Harlow finds herself living in Rosemary Beach in a house with Nan for the next nine months while their father is on tour. She wants nothing more than to just keep her head down and avoid Nan, but when Grant walks out of Nan's bedroom in nothing but boxer briefs, she can't help but feel betrayed.

Grant is determined to get Harlow to forgive him. The more time he spends with her, the harder it becomes to resist giving her his heart. As Grant and Harlow fall deeper and deeper, Harlow realizes that she is not being fair to Grant, because she has secrets too. As those secrets come to light, Grant and Harlow will need to decide if it is worth taking a chance on each other.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Abbi delivers another great installment of the Rosemary Beach series. I have loved Grant as a character ever since Blaire pulled her gun on him in Fallen Too Far. I was so excited when Abbi announced that he was getting his own book and I was so relieved to find out that he wouldn't be ending up with Nan. She is just too horrible for words and Grant, while not perfect, is way too good for her. He's a guy and he got sucked in. I don't like it, but I can forgive him for it. I love Harlow. She is super sweet, but at the same time unexpected.
I was hoping that this book would be a little more angsty. It just didn't have the same level of torturous drama that the other books in series had. Sure, there are some unexpected surprises, but the cliffhanger wasn't as dramatic as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was enough for me to be waiting impatiently until July when the sequel comes out, but it wasn't as shocking or unexpected as some of the other cliffhangers. This book does fall a little short when compared to the others in the series, but it is still an amazing read. It is worth taking a chance on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Grant and Harlow's story continues in One More Chance - expected publication July, 2014

Grant Carter did everything in his power to convince Harlow Manning that he was a good guy. More than a smooth-talker and someone she could trust. He had to overcome his reputation as a playboy, and his history with Harlow's half-sister, Nan, a woman with a reputation of her own.

Harlow had taken the chance, falling hard and fast for the guy who thrilled her with his all-consuming desire. After a lifetime of avoiding bad boys like Grant, she had opened herself to the possibilities of love...

But a life-changing secret has torn them apart, and now Grant and Harlow must decide if they have enough fight to make it work - or if the pain of betrayal has permanently destroyed their future.

Simple Perfection (Perfection #2) by Abbi Glines

When Della Sloane walked into Woods Kerrington's life in Twisted Perfection, he never could have imagined how she would turn it upside down. Determined not to let his father control him anymore, Woods decides to leave everything behind him - his family, his money, the future he always dreamed of - to follow the one thing that made life worth living. When Woods' father dies suddenly, he finds himself back in Rosemary with a business to run and a mother to care for.

Della wants nothing more than to be Woods' rock, to be strong for him, just like he has been strong for her. However the ghosts of the past still haunt Della, threatening to pull her under at any moment. Della will have to face her past head on and fight for the one thing she knows she can't live without.

No one has the ability torture me quite like Abbi Glines. I love the Rosemary series and find myself coming back to these books time and time again. The books in this series are full of angst and romance, not to mention a bunch of sexy men. What more can a girl ask for, right? Abbi makes me feel every emotion, every scar, every beautiful moment. I get lost in this world and these relationships she creates. Simple Perfection does not disappoint. I love Woods and Della and was glad to see them get their happy ending. This one has some twists that I didn't see coming, especially at the end. I can always forgive Abbi for putting me through such emotional turmoil while reading her novels because she gives me such perfectly satisfying happy endings.

Coming up...

Rush Too Far (Too Far #1.1) - Fallen Too Far told from Rush's POV - expected sometime in 2014

Grant's books:
Take a Chance (Chances #1) - expected February 3, 2014

It also appears that Tripp and Bethy will be getting their own book, although I wasn't able to find any information on expected publication dates. Simple Perfection contains story hints for both upcoming additions to the Rosemary series. One thing is for sure, I can't wait to get my hands on them!!

Forever Too Far (Too Far #3) by Abbi Glines

"When you find your reason for living, hold onto it. Never let it go. Even if it means burning other bridges along the way."

Forever Too Far is the third installment of Blaire and Rush's story. In Fallen Too Far, we watched as Blaire and Rush's worlds collided and family secrets rocked them to the core. In Never Too Far, Blaire and Rush, both irrevocably changed, struggled to rebuild their relationship based on trust, even as family issues continued to threaten their happily-ever-after. In Forever Too Far, we get to see the fruits of their struggles. Blaire and Rush finally make it through to the other side and it is gratifying to see.

I loved this book! It was everything I could have hoped for - sigh inducing, swoon worthy, happy tears falling perfection. Just when I thought Rush couldn't get any more perfect, he proves me wrong! He is so romantic and thoughtful, and I hope that I can find a man who will take care of me the way he takes care of Blaire, and I don't mean the money and the gifts, but the utter devotion he shows towards her. I feel like he finally embraces the man he was always meant to be, the man that deep down he always was. Finally realizing that he couldn't fix all his sister's problems, realizing that she had to fix them herself, frees him and allows him to fully embrace what's truly important - Blaire and his son.

While books like this can sometimes turn out to be fluff and all filler, I do not feel this is the case with Forever Too Far. It is not as angsty as the other two books, but I don't think that was the point of this book. Instead of focusing on the drama surrounding Blaire and Rush, this story focuses on them as they focus on each other and their lives together. There are still plenty of steamy scenes, too. It provides just the right amount of closure to Blaire and Rush's story, and yet left me wanting more!

Forever Too Far also gives us a glimpse into the continuing story of Woods and Della, as well as some insights into Grant's upcoming books. I love the Rosemary world created by Abbi and all the characters. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Oh, and make sure you check out Rush's wedding song on iTunes...it's super swoon worthy! https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/id659106527

Twisted Perfection (Perfection #1) by Abbi Glines

Woods Kerrington knows what he wants in life. He has worked hard and paid his dues at his family's country club with the goal of eventually being promoted to VP. He knows what he wants when it comes to relationships too - nothing complicated, just a night of naughty fun. This changes when he meets Della Sloane. The two spend one passionate night together before Della walks out of his life, but Woods can't seem to forget her. Months later when Della comes back into his life, Woods finds himself questioning everything about the life he thought he wanted. A relationship with Della is anything but simple. It is complicated not only by the objections of Woods' family, but also by the dark and twisted past that haunts Della. Can Woods finally stand up for himself and claim his life for his own? Will he lose everything in the process? Can Della face the demons of her past and seize her chance at love and happiness? You will have to read and find out...I'm not telling! ;P

Fans of Abbi's Fallen series (with Rush, another of my favorite book boyfriends) will love this spin off series starring my new favorite book boyfriend, Woods Kerrington. Woods was one of my favorite characters from the Fallen series and I was excited to hear that he was going to get his own book, and I have to say that I am not disappointed! There was a brief moment when I lost faith in Woods (sorry! Hanging my head in shame!) when I thought he wasn't going to be the man I knew he was, but he came through for Della (and me) in a big way in the end. I loved watching him fall head over heels and there were plenty of steamy scenes to enjoy.

My only qualm about Twisted is that Abbi has left us with a serious cliff hanger - one that had my mouth dropping open with a gasp - and part two, Simple Perfection, doesn't come out until the Fall of 2013! Oh Abbi, why must you torture me like this??

Never Too Far (Too Far #2) by Abbi Glines

Never Too Far picks up about a month after Blaire has fled Rosemary after learning the dark family secret that Rush hid from her. Now Blaire is the one with a secret, a secret that has once again turned her world upside down. Now Blaire finds herself returning to Rosemary, once again placing her trust in Rush, the man she is desperately in love with, but unable to forgive.

Rush is devastated by Blaire's departure and when she returns he is desperate to prove his love for her and earn her trust, even it if means turning his back on his own family. Proving this turns out to be harder than Rush anticipates and the couple face obstacles that will test their relationship's breaking point. Is Blaire strong enough to trust and not run? Can Rush prove that he is worthy of trust? Or will the same forces that drove them apart before win again?

I only have one word for this book - Rush! Rush! Rush! Rush! Thank you Abbi for giving us a glimpse into Rush's head. I loved seeing things through his eyes and it made me love him for more than just his hot body (which doesn't hurt either). If I had to chose one word to describe Rush it would be fierce. Rush is fierce - physically and emotionally. He is fiercely passionate, loves fiercely, and is fiercely protective of what is his, and I love him for it, even if it does turn him into a bit of a hot head sometimes. He absolutely made this book for me. I read this book in about 4 hours. I got so involved in the story that when I paused to look at the clock it was 12:30 am, but at that point I was so close to the end that I had to finish. There was no way I was putting the book down.

I love, love, loved it! I am so looking forward to reading the spin off books when they come out and was even more thrilled to learn today that as a reward for her faithful readers, Abbi is going to be releasing a third book for Rush and Blaire, probably sometime towards the end of summer! I loved this book so much that I think it warrants another reading right away!

Fallen Too Far (Too Far #1) by Abbi Glines

Nineteen year old Blaire has no where else to go. Her mother has just died of cancer and she is forced to sell her home and everything else to pay the medical bills. She has spent the last 3 years taking care of her mother and she needs a place to crash until she can get a job and get back on her feet. The last person she wants to go to is her father, who abandoned her family after the death of her twin sister in a car wreck in which he was the driver. Blaire's father is married again and has himself a new family. When Blaire pulls up to the house she knows instantly that she will not fit into this family. Adding further insult to injury, Blaire discovers that her father isn't event there. He has escaped to Paris with his new wife.

The house is owned by her 24 year old step-brother, Rush Finlay. Rush, the only son of a famous rock star, is used to getting his way with everything. He life is an endless party and stream of girls, and he is sexy as hell. It is clear from the beginning that he does not want Blaire there. He takes pity on her and offers her the small room located under the stairs (very Harry Potter) for a month while she finds a job and saves enough money to get a place of her own. Despite his warnings and the warnings of others that Blaire should steer clear of Rush, she finds herself drawn to him, and he to her. Rush has a secret though, a family secret that everyone seems to be in on except Blaire. A secret that has the potential to shake Blaire's world to it's core, a secret he can't bare to share with her, because both of them have already fallen too far.

Loved this book. Rush has all the elements of a damaged bad boy and Blaire is your perfect innocent girl next door, and together they are hot! This book is quite steamy at times and definitely left me wanting more! The sequel Never Too Far unfortunately does not get released until March 2013, so I will have to wait to find out what happens next. BOO!! I am hoping that we get to learn more about Rush's history in the next book as his character was never really fleshed out. I am hoping that he is more than just the philandering playboy. There were definitely glimpses of a more tortured soul and I am hoping to learn more about him in the sequel. My only complaint about this book is that I now have to wait on pins and needles for the next one.
